Christ in you! Mystery Among The Gentiles Revealed! (Col. 1:26-27)
Revealed how?….. By the Holy Spirit! (1 Jn. 4:13, 1 Cor. 2:10)
The good news of our union with Christ that results in relationship instead of religion because of what Christ did for us. Not because of what we have done for Him. All because we simply believe in Him!
- “For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God” Rom. 10:4 (NLT).
- “For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority” Col. 2:9-10 (NLT).
- “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” Col. 1:26-27 (KJV).
This is a blog that is meant to be a study guide to accompany the Christ in You (Good News) Study-Map I have created, which you can view in detail below. Its purpose is to reveal the mystery of Christ in us, us in Christ and how the free gift of the Holy Spirit makes it all possible! Col. 1:26-27 is the catalyst that has driven me to create this map and blog. Col. 1:26-27 has sent me on a journey that has been life changing!
Let’s dive in! First you will want to take a good long look at the study-map in high resolution. Then we will move onto breaking down the details of the study-map. This is a Bible study that leads to a better understanding of what it means to be “in Christ” and have “Christ in us” and the freedom and abundant life that the Father has planned for us. It is an exploration into union with Christ and fellowship with the Holy Spirit! ! Enjoy the journey! I know I am!

The study-map is not meant to look at and comprehend quickly nor is this blog meant to read through quickly in one visit. On the contrary, it’s a detailed schematic of scripture to encourage study and to slowly take in with Bible in hand. This is a labor of love designed to be a catalyst to dig deeper. The study-map is designed to be printed in a large 24″x36″ poster format, however it’s also designed to view online in high resolution. The flow of the map has several starting points that point out the many relationships between man, Father, Son and the Holy Spirit and where it all leads to: Christ in us, us in Christ, the abundant life, union with Christ by the Holy Spirit and the ultimately the Kingdom of God within us! A better understanding of this leads to Friendship, Fellowship, Communion and Union with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. His love, joy, peace and glory within us!
If you were to look at the entire poster in linear order, the real starting point is at the top center of the poster where He chooses us and we willingly choose Him in return!
Col. 1:26,27 (NKJV), Jn. 16:13-15 (MSG) and Col. 1:26,27 (NKJV) are the key scriptures that led me to dig deeper and deeper into this glorious mystery that has been revealed to us by the Holy Spirit! What is the mystery revealed? “Christ in us, the hope of glory” – Col. 1:26,27 (NKJV). As I have been digging and digging into this mystery, I have found that this also leads to the mystery of:
- Us in Christ – 1 Jn. 4:13, 15 (NLT), Eph. 2:6 (AMP)
- The abundant life – Jn. 10:10, 2 Cor. 3:6, Jn. 6:63, 1 Cor. 15:22 (AMP)
- Union with Christ – Eph. 2:6 (NLT), 1 Cor. 6:17 (NASB), Eph. 3:16-18 (AMP), Col. 3:3 (NLT)
- The Holy Spirit Dwells in Those Who Believe in Christ – 1 Cor. 3:16, 6:19-20, 2 Cor. 6:16, Ezek. 36:27, 2 Tim. 1:14, Eph. 5:18, Rom. 8:9, 8:11, Jn. 16:13, Gal. 5:18, 1 Jn. 2:27 (NLT)
- The kingdom of God within you! – Lk. 17:20-21 (NKJV)
These are all glorious mysteries that we will be discovering more of for eternity!
Also and most important is the mystery of Christ Himself! “…in whom are hidden ALL the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” Col. 2:3 (NLT). In the book of Colossians, Paul says that “Christ is a mystery of God!”.
“[For my hope is] that their hearts may be encouraged as they are knit together in [unselfish] love, so that they may have all the riches that come from the full assurance of understanding [the joy of salvation], resulting in a true [and more intimate] knowledge of the mystery of God, that is, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge [regarding the word and purposes of God]” Col. 2:2-3 (AMP).
WoW! The mystery that is Christ… in whom are hidden ALL the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I really like what Paul says here: “all the riches that come from the full assurance of understanding the joy of salvation.” The result of understanding the joy of salvation is a true and more intimate knowledge of the mystery of God, that is, Christ.
Jesus: Yahweh, Savior, Emmanuel, Christ, Lord, Master, The Word, The Bread of Life, Son of God, Son of man, Son of David, Lamb of God, New Adam, Second Adam, Last Adam, Light of the World, King of the Jews, King of Kings, I Am is the center of all!
“Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see – such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything” Col. 1:15-18 (NLT).
Jesus said: “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”Jn. 14:25-26 (KJV)
When Jesus says: “whom the Father will send in my name.” He is again is putting Himself in the center! The Father, Son and Holy Spirit had a plan and that was for the Father to send us the Holy Spirit through the Son!
“In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was [continually existing] in the beginning [co-eternally] with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being” Jn. 1:1-3 (AMP).
“Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, who is the source of all things, and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things [that have been created], and we [believers exist and have life and have been redeemed] through Him” 1 Corin. 8:6 (AMP).
- “Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me” Jn. 14:6 (NLT).
- “There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved” Acts 4:12 (NLT).
- “But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God’s promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ” Gal. 3:22 (NLT). We receive God’s promise of freedom how? By believing in Jesus Christ 🙂 * Much more about the importance of believing and faith below.
Because of Christ and His sacrifice for us, our sins have not only been forgiven but erased! This is what Christ did for us when He died on the cross… “This “realm of death” describes our former state, for we were held in sin’s grasp. But now, we’ve been resurrected out of that “realm of death” never to return, for we are forever alive and forgiven of all our sins! He canceled out every legal violation we had on our record and the old arrest warrant that stood to indict us. He erased it all—our sins, our stained soul—he deleted it all and they cannot be retrieved! Everything we once were in Adam has been placed onto his cross and nailed permanently there as a public display of cancellation. Then Jesus made a public spectacle of all the powers and principalities of darkness, stripping away from them every weapon and all their spiritual authority and power to accuse us. And by the power of the cross, Jesus led them around as prisoners in a procession of triumph. He was not their prisoner; they were his!” Col. 2:13-15 (TPT). …and we receive all of this when we believe in Him by faith.
Here is some proper perspective for those who believe in Him. I just mentioned Col. 1:15-18 above but lets read it again in fuller context.
So he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross. This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News” Col. 1:15-23(NLT).
Check out verse 18-20 in the Message version: “He was supreme in the beginning and—leading the resurrection parade—he is supreme in the end. From beginning to end he’s there, towering far above everything, everyone. So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross.” Col. 1:18-20 (NLT). Absolutely amazing!
What happened at the cross was the most significant event in human history! At the moment Jesus gave up His Spirit on the cross the veil in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart, and tombs opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead. I would say this was a pretty important moment in human history. The veil being torn was the best message God could have given us. Because of the blood of Jesus, man would no longer be separated from His presence! Jesus made a way where the was no way. The veil in the Temple represented a separation from His presence. There is no longer any separation thanks to Jesus! Rom. 8:31-39 (NLT)
“At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” Some of the bystanders misunderstood and thought he was calling for the prophet Elijah. One of them ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, holding it up to him on a reed stick so he could drink. But the rest said, “Wait! Let’s see whether Elijah comes to save him.” Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit. At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart, and tombs opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead. Mat. 27:45-52 (NLT) See also: Mrk. 15:38 and Lk. 23:45.
“And now we are brothers and sisters in God’s family because of the blood of Jesus, and he welcomes us to come right into the most holy sanctuary in the heavenly realm—boldly and with no hesitation. For he has dedicated a new, life-giving way for us to approach God. For just as the veil was torn in two, Jesus’ body was torn open to give us free and fresh access to him! And since we now have a magnificent King-Priest to welcome us into God’s house, we come closer to God and approach him with an open heart, fully convinced by faith that nothing will keep us at a distance from him. For our hearts have been sprinkled with blood to remove impurity and we have been freed from an accusing conscience and now we are clean, unstained, and presentable to God inside and out! Heb. 10:19-22 (TPT)
“Since we are now joined to Christ, we have been given the treasures of redemption by his blood—the total cancellation of our sins—all because of the cascading riches of his grace” Eph. 1:7 (TPT).
“He canceled out every legal violation we had on our record and the old arrest warrant that stood to indict us. He erased it all—our sins, our stained soul—he deleted it all and they cannot be retrieved! Everything we once were in Adam has been placed onto his cross and nailed permanently there as a public display of cancellation” Col. 2:14 (TPT).
…and for those who believe, this same Christ lives in you and you in Him! WoW!
Col. 1:26-27, 1 Jn. 4:13,15, Col. 1:27, Rom. 8:10, Gal. 2:20, Eph. 3:17,
2 Cor. 13:5, Gal. 3:26-28, Jn. 14:20, Gal. 4:19
…and this Christ that lives in you also lives in the Father and Father in Christ!
The Father and the Son are one and you are in Christ
(because you believe) and He, the Son in you!
Those who believe in Christ are also filled with the Holy Spirit!
Are you starting to see the union with the Trinity here?
This union is based solely on our belief in Christ.
This is the good news!
“Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me. Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of the work you have seen me do” Jn. 14:10-11 (NLT).
“When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you” Jn. 14:20 (NLT).
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one” Jn. 14:27-30 (NLT).
“The Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you (those who believe in Christ) know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you” Jn. 14:17-18 (AMP).
The core of the Christ in You (Good News) Bible Study-Map and this blog is to point to the good news of intimate relationship with Him instead of religion with a distant angry God.
Religion would have you believe you have to work hard to earn God’s love and acceptance and that He is out to get you if you mess up. Religion would have you believe that even if you did work hard enough to receive God’s love and acceptance that it would only be temporary until you mess up again. In this state, you walk through life defeated and miserable most of the time. The heavy burden and heavy yoke of religion is life in a cage, a prison of fear void of life.
Relationship is “believing in Him whom the Father sent” (Jn. 6:29 NKJV) and receiving the love and acceptance He already has for you because of what Jesus Christ has done, not because of what you have done. Oh thank you Jesus! Relationship is receiving His easy yoke and light burden. Instead of a cage, a prison void of life, there is freedom and life!
“My yoke is easy and My burden is light…” This statement from Jesus is what relationship with Him is all about!
“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” Mat. 11:29-30 (NKJV).
Here in this scripture Jesus says “take” my yoke upon you and learn from Him. This is something we are to go after and take. It is a free gift He offers us but we need to take (receive) it. If someone offers you a present and you never take it and open it you would have never received the gift. I love how this scripture reads in The Passion Translation:
“Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear” Mat. 11:29-30 (TPT).
In Him there is rest, life and life abundant!
Here “Take my yoke upon you” is translated to “Simply join your life to mine”. There it is. Union with Christ. There is the life abundant! I will dive more into this below. Read on… there is so much good news! 🙂
When we willingly believe in Christ, we also receive the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit Guides Us into All Truth
The Holy Spirit reveals to us Christ in Us, the Hope of Glory
“Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit“ Acts 2:38 (NLT).
Above I talked about the beginning of the map where God first chose us Eph. 1:4-7 (NLT) and then how we willing respond to Him. We willingly respond to Him (the Father) by choosing to believe in Jesus (the son) through faith. I highly recommend reading the entire chapter of John 14. After Jesus says He is the way, the truth and the life and is the only way to the Father, He then also goes onto to say that the Father will be sending an advocate, a helper that is the Holy Spirit who will never leave us! Jesus said the Father sent Him and that the Father would be sending us the Holy Spirit as a representative of Jesus. Jesus said He had to go and be with the Father so that the Holy Spirit could come. He also called the Holy Spirit a gift! This is incredible and is specifically what I am trying to unravel with my map. It is the purpose of this passionate labor of love! It’s burning in me like never before and it is life giving!
Jesus gave us a great example of letting God live through us in this scripture: “Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me” Jn. 14:10 (NLT). This is a great example of us in Christ and Christ in us and Christ who lives in us doing His work through us because of the Holy Spirit. WOW! More on this as we plow through the study-map.
The secret has been revealed to us! “This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people. For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory” Col 1:26,27 (NLT). How is this possible,? How has it been revealed? By the Holy Spirit! It’s mentioned very clearly here: “…But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For His Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets“ 1 Cor. 2:10 (NLT). Below I will attempt to explain the Study-Map and break down the goodness of the Lord! Oh yes! There are secrets God wants to share with us! So much good news to discover!
Everything noted above is based on our choosing Him! The choosing Him and the believing in Him whom the Father sent requires “faith”.
God first chose us Eph. 1:4-7 (NLT) and the Father draws us to His Son. “For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me” Jn. 6:44 (NLT), however we still require faith to choose Him. It takes faith and the gift of God’s grace to believe.
“For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God;” Eph. 2:8 (AMP). The (NLT) version puts it clearer here: “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God” Eph. 2:8 (NLT). This free gift of God’s grace is available to all men; “For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people” Tit. 2:11 (NLT). However we still must believe and choose Him to receive this salvation. It is a gift, but we must willingly receive the gift.
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus” Rom. 3:21-26 (NLT).
“When you believe by faith”, that is when you receive all of what the free gift of God’s grace has to offer and it takes “faith” to believe it.
“For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God. For Moses writes that the law’s way of making a person right with God requires obedience to all of its commands. But faith’s way of getting right with God says, “Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will go up to heaven?’ (to bring Christ down to earth). And don’t say, ‘Who will go down to the place of the dead?’ (to bring Christ back to life again).” In fact, it says, “The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.” And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved” Rom. 10:4-10 (NLT).
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” Rom. 10:17 (NKJV). Andrew Wommack has a great note about this scripture. “When we hear God’s Word, the Holy Spirit empowers it, and if we receive the truth, God’s supernatural faith enters us. We were so destitute that we couldn’t even believe the good news on our own. God had to make His kind of faith available to us so that we could believe in Him and receive His salvation. We were saved by using God’s supernatural faith to receive His grace.” WoW! Andrew Wommack has a great article on “The Faith of God” which I highly recommend reading. It dives deeper into this supernatural faith.
“Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see” Heb. 11:1 (NLT).
“For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.” We have victory though faith!” 1 Jn. 5:4 (NLT) .
“For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe” 1 Thes. 2:13 (NASB).
Faith is the key that unlocks this free gift of God’s grace and God by His glorious grace and mercy helps us with this faith! Thank you Lord for helping me believe in you with all that is within me! The good news is it only takes a little faith.
“Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and asked, “Why could we not drive it out?” He answered, “Because of your little faith [your lack of trust and confidence in the power of God]; for I assure you and most solemnly say to you, if you have [living] faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and [if it is God’s will] it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you” Mat. 17:19-20 (AMP).
I have to reference this scripture one more time because I feel it wraps up what I have talked about in regards to faith in one simple sentence.
“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God” Eph. 2:8 (NLT).
“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Rom. 15:13 (NLT) . Trust in Him and be filled with His joy and peace!
OK, I felt the subject of “Faith” was extremely important to spend some time on. Now lets move onto breaking out different sections of the study-map in detail. But before diving in, I want to point out the “Map Legend” I have at the upper right portion of the study-map.
This is a very important part to getting the most out of the map. I have spent a lot of time working through the roles that each person of the Trinity plays in regards to relationship. The color coding of the map helps point out which person of the Trinity is involved with the scripture and how it relates to us and us to them. It’s such a wonderful mystery!
Starting Point Flow-Chart
I have broken out the starting point segment for clarification. Click on the link or image below and you will be able to zoom around in high resolution for happy exploration 🙂
Starting Point Flow-Chart (Ver. 33a)
(God choosing us and our willing response to Him)
* printable to an 11″x17″ blow up. Follow printing directions noted for map abv.
I want to point out the first and last scripture in this starting point flow chart above. First we have this wonderful scripture that should set you free!
“Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace He has poured out on us who belong to His dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.” Eph. 1:4-7 (NLT). There is so much goodness in this! It’s wonderful news! God wanted to do this and it gave Him great pleasure.
Some read this scripture and say He chose us, the end. However, there is an important willful response on our part to choose Him, to respond to Him choosing us. So the caveat to this is He gave us a free will so we can choose Him! He did not create robots that have no choice in the matter whatsoever. There are far too many scriptures that require a free will response on our part for us to come to any other conclusion. Here are two scriptural examples of this:
“Whoever confesses and acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God” 1 John 4:15 (AMP).
“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive” Jn. 7:38-39 (NLT).
The “this” He is talking about here is the living water! The abundant life! Concerning the “Spirit”, is the Holy Spirit. He says here; that those who believe in Him (Jesus Christ) would receive the Holy Spirit. So believing in Him and choosing Him is the starting point to receiving all that is revealed on the study-map. It’s the key that unlocks the door to all He has for us! It’s pretty simple: Believe in Him, choose Him and receive His gift! This is a gift that cannot be earned, you only have to receive it. The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to us! Freely receive it so you can partake in what Jesus has already done for us. “Believe in Him whom the Father has sent” Jn. 6:29 (NKJV). We can choose abundant life or darkness. We do have a choice.
“Believe and receive or doubt and do without, it’s your choice.” ~ Andrew Wommack
In the physical, you could offer me a gift and I could say, no thanks and never receive the gift or find out what the gift even was. Receive the gift and find out what’s in it. 🙂 It’s His goodness! Chose life, abundant life!
Also look again at Eph. 1:4-7 (NLT), Specifically “So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to His dear Son.” Eph. 1:6 (NLT).
So how do we “belong to His dear Son” ? By believing in Him who the Father sent! By choosing Him! Don’t believe in Him and you don’t receive what He poured out, it’s that simple.
“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it” Eph. 2:8-9 (NLT).
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” Eph. 3:17-19 (NKJV). – Oh YES!
“He died for everyone so that those who receive His new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them” 2 Cor. 5:15(NLT). Note: “Those who receive His new life“, that is referring to those who “choose to believe in Him”. Also note the second half of this scripture: “will no longer live for themselves, but instead will live for Christ“, this is significant to our relationship with the Lord. When we choose Him we receive His new life and as a result our desires change. Our life changes. We begin to let Him live through us!
What do we get when we choose Him and receive the gift? We get Abundant LIFE now!
“who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life” 2 Cor. 3:6 (NKJV).
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” Jn. 6:63 (NKJV)
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” Jn. 10:10 (NKJV).
“But now that you’ve found you don’t have to listen to sin tell you what to do, and have discovered the delight of listening to God telling you, what a surprise! A whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way! Work hard for sin your whole life and your pension is death. But God’s gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our Master” Rom. 6:23 (MSG).
We become a new creation from the moment we believe in Jesus Christ!
“Whoever confesses and acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God” 1 John 4:15 (AMP). This union happens the moment we believe. It’s where the new creation comes from!
We used to have an old sinful nature, however from the moment you believe in Jesus Christ you are a new creation with a new nature! A Christian no longer has a sinful nature. A Christian does not have two nature warring within themselves. This new nature is filled with the Holy Spirit, filled with Christ and filled with abundant new life! This new creation is now in union with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit! There is no room for the old sinful nature. Our old sinful nature was nailed to the cross and we step into this fact when we believe in Jesus Christ!
Water baptism is a good example of this. A glorious representation of our identity with Christ. A celebration of identifying the with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ! A celebration of our resurrection into new life which happened when we believed in Jesus Christ!
“Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.” Rom. 6:3-11 (NLT).
Here is a good summation of Rom. 6:6-11 from the Message Bible. It’ puts it even clearer.
“Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life [our old man, our sinful nature, our human nature without the Holy Spirit] was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life—no longer at sin’s every beck and call! [No longer a slave to sin!]” Rom. 6:6-11 (MSG).
- Death in Adam, Life in Christ – Rom. 5:12-21
- Dead to Sin, Alive to God – Rom. 6:1-14
- From Slaves of Sin to Slaves of God – Rom. 6:15-23
- Freedom from Rules and New Life in Christ – Col. 2:6-13
- New Life! – Titus 3:5
“Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. When you came to Christ, you were “circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision—the cutting away of your sinful nature. For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead. You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins” Col. 2:8-13 (NLT).
So believe in the Son, the one whom the Father sent and receive also the Holy Spirit whom the Father sent as a gift to us in Jesus’ name! Can it really be that simple? Yes, it’s really that simple. Our flesh wants to make it more complicated so we can feel justified by somehow earning this free gift. It can’t be done, you cannot earn that which has already been freely given to you.
“Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent” Jn. 6:29 (NLT). The only “work” here is the believing.
Jesus also said: “…And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” Jn. 17:3 (NKJV).
Jn. 6:29 above mentions believing and this scripture mentions knowing. Believing is faith, knowing is relationship. We need both!
“I have told you these things while I am still with you. But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.” Jn. 14:25-26 (AMP). This is the core scripture that inspired me to make the entire map!
Do we get this Abundant LIFE now if we do not choose Him? Not choosing Him is a choice for living life in the darkness rather than in the light. Death vs. Life! “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him” John 3:36 (NKJV). Choose life! Choose Him! John 6:63 (NKJV), Jn. 10:10 (NKJV), 2 Cor. 3:6 (NKJV), Rom. 8:9-11 (NLT).
This scripture says a lot to me about receiving Him, believing in Him and the benefit of doing so. “He came to that which was His own [that which belonged to Him—His world, His creation, His possession], and those who were His own [people—the Jewish nation] did not receive and welcome Him. But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the right [the authority, the privilege] to become children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name” Jn. 1:11-12 (AMP).
This really says a lot! So what did those get in return for believing and trusting in Jesus Christ? The right to to become children of God.
“For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” Gal. 3:26 (NKJV).
Important Note: Not all are God’s children, only those that “believe in Him” are. An inconvenient truth? Well, it’s what the Bible teaches, believe in Him whom the Father sent.
“But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.) …and how does Christ live in us? By us believing in and choosing him. “…And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” Rom. 8:9-11 (NLT).
Here are just a few scriptures that talk about the benefits of believing in Him (Jesus Christ). Believing is an act of free will on our part. We can choice to believe or not to believe. We can receive or reject.
“…whoever believes in Him (Jesus Christ) should not perish but have everlasting life” Jn. 3:16 (NKJV).
“…he who believes in Me (Jesus Christ) has everlasting life” Jn. 6:47 (NKJV).
“…the person who hears My word [the one who heeds My message], and believes and trusts in Him who sent Me, has (possesses now) eternal life [that is, eternal life actually begins—the believer is transformed], and does not come into judgment and condemnation, but has passed [over] from death into life” Jn. 5:24 (AMP). ….Life abundantly! John 10:10 (NKJV), but more about this below.
What this all leads to… Christ is in you because of the Holy Spirit and because of the Holy Spirit you are in Christ! – “By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit…, Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God” 1 Jn. 4:13,15 (NKJV).
This is all because God first chose you before the foundation of the world Eph. 1:4-7 (NKJV) and then in response you chose to believe in the one whom the Father sent (the Son, Jesus Christ) and the best part of all is that the Father sent us the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name! Jn. 14:25-26 (NKJV). We are filled with the Holy Spirit who has all that the Father and the Son have! And because of this we have life, not just life but life abundant (overflowing)! OK, I’m getting ahead of myself again, I can’t help it, I’m so excited! This is such great news! I will explain more below.
Now that I have explained the starting point, let me explain my purpose for the study-map. I created this blog to help expound upon the details of the study-map. The map itself may feel a bit overwhelming at first glance. I am going to try and break it down into nuggets of His goodness.
My purpose of creating the poster was to explain what God was showing me in regards to the Trinity. One night before going on a mission trip to Africa, God kept me up all night unveiling a schematic of the Trinity and specifically, man’s relationship with all three persons of the Trinity and vice versa. He was showing me this schematic imagery explaining the spiritual aspects of the Trinity, analytically but with a creative bent, ha! Analytically creative revelation… This is very helpful for a mechanical engineer with an analytical brain. I have a photo gallery from that 2016 trip here.
My focus was on how important The Holy Spirit is in regards to our relationship with the Father and the Son. In the process I found it was leading me to the reality of “Christ in Me” and then it went even deeper and led me to myself in Christ and in the Father and Christ in the Father, etc… Basically union with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. WoW! Then things really started to get exciting and my relationship with Jesus Christ all started to make a lot more sense! The Holy Spirit is the key that unlocks the door. The gift of The Holy Spirit is the best thing the Father could have given us! It’s crucial that we understand this and make room for the Holy Spirit in our lives to guide us, teach us and help us!
In Jn. 16:7 (NKJV) Jesus said it was to our advantage that He go away and be with the Father. He said if He went to be with the Father, the Father would send the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name. So here we have the Father sending us the Holy Spirit through the Son. Wow! Jesus said “the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things” Jn. 14:25 (AMP).
Let’s read Jn. 16:4-7 in the Message version in fuller context: “I didn’t tell you this earlier because I was with you every day. But now I am on my way to the One who sent me. Not one of you has asked, ‘Where are you going?’ Instead, the longer I’ve talked, the sadder you’ve become. So let me say it again, this truth: It’s better for you that I leave. If I don’t leave, the Friend [The Holy Spirit] won’t come. But if I go, I’ll send him to you” Jn. 16:7 (MSG).
When you have Jesus telling the disciples that something better is coming and that something better will not come unless He leaves, you pay attention. What could possibly be better than Jesus? The Father had a plan for us to be the Temple of God. (1 Cor. 3:16). The indwelling Holy Spirit completes the plan for us to be the Temple of God. He, the Holy Spirit makes it all possible. This is why Jesus said: “It’s better for you that I leave.”
When you look at the map it is showing you the present state of the Trinity in the New Testament after Jesus ascended to Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father and the Holy Spirit was sent. The operation of the Trinity under the New Covenant! You can see us (man) on earth with the Holy Spirit and Father and Son in Heaven. However, The Holy Spirit is sent to us through Jesus. (In Jesus’ name) Jn. 14:26 (NKJV) and the only way to The Father is through the Son. Jn. 14:6 (NKJV). Jesus is the center!
The map is focusing on the operation of the Trinity during the New Testament (New Covenant) . The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are operating very differently than what all three persons of the Trinity where doing during creation and through the Old Testament. The Trinity always was, is and will be! There are three main arrows in the center of the map that point back and forth from man on earth, up to Heaven and back again. I have the center of the map cleaned up to show just these three main arrows indicated below.
Before diving into this section of the map I need to talk about the New Covenant. The Bible speaks of a new and better covenant with God. Jer. 31:31-34, Heb. 8:6-13, 1 Cor. 11:23-25, Eze. 36:26-27. We are living in this New Covenant thanks to what Jesus did on the cross. This is a major focal point to the study-map.
Let’s read through these scriptures carefully:
“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah — not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.” Jer. 31:31-34 (NKJV)
Also referenced in Hebrews 8 and after the reference back to Jeremiah it says this in ” When God speaks of a “new” covenant, it means he has made the first one obsolete. It is now out of date and will soon disappear” Heb. 8:13 (NLT).
“But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is far superior to the old priesthood, for he is the one who mediates for us a far better covenant with God, based on better promises. If the first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no need for a second covenant to replace it“ Heb. 8:6-7 (NLT).
Read Heb. 8:6-13 (AMP) for full context.
“For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood.” 1 Cor. 11:23-25 (NLT).
The Holy Spirit is a crucial part of the New Covenant:
“And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations” Ezek. 36:26-27 (AMP).
We are to be ministers of the new covenant!
“Such is the confidence and steadfast reliance and absolute trust that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficiently qualified in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency and qualifications come from God. He has qualified us [making us sufficient] as ministers of a new covenant [of salvation through Christ], not of the letter [of a written code] but of the Spirit; for the letter [of the Law] kills [by revealing sin and demanding obedience], but the Spirit gives life.” 2 Cor. 3:4-6(AMP).
The Holy Spirit empowers us to be ministers of this New Covenant.
This sums up the operation of the Trinity in the New Covenant nicely: “On that day [when that time comes] you will know for yourselves that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you” Jn. 14:20 (AMP).
“when that time comes”… That time has come…. let’s read Jn. 14:20 again in the (NLT).
“When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you” Jn. 14:20 (NLT). The Holy Spirit makes this all possible. It’s all amazing good news!
OK, back to the map. I have broken out the section of the map that refers to our relationship with the Trinity and vise-versa.
Study-Map Center Focal Point Flow-Chart
I have broken out the center focus segment for clarification. This is the core of our relationship with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit! Click on the link or image below and you will be able to zoom around in high resolution for happy exploration 🙂
Study-Map Center Focal Point (Ver. 33a)
(Our relationship with the Trinity and vice versa)

These make reference to three main scriptures that are the foundation of the entire study-map. These three main arrows are focusing on these important core scriptures:
“I have told you these things while I am still with you. But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you” Jn. 14:25,26 (AMP).
“But when the Friend comes, the Spirit of the Truth, He will take you by the hand and guide you into all the truth there is. He won’t draw attention to himself, but will make sense out of what is about to happen and, indeed, out of all that I have done and said. He will honor Me; He will take from Me and deliver it to you. Everything the Father has is also Mine. That is why I’ve said, ‘He takes from Me and delivers to you’” Jn. 16:13-15 (MSG).
“But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you ]” Jn. 16:7 (AMP).
You will also see this important question I have on the main arrow which is making reference to Jn. 16:13-15 (MSG). “If the Son is in Heaven seated at the right hand of the Father”, (See Mrk. 16:19, Col. 3:1, Mat. 22:44) then how is Christ in me and further more, how am I in Christ?”
This is a question I’ve had for a while. Jn. 16:13-15 (NKJV) helps me a lot with this question! I will try my best to explain what God has shown me and why I made this study-map. You will have to follow along on the main study-map for all the other supporting scriptures that help answer this very important question. These are some of the important references in regards to Christ in you. Col. 1:26-27, 1 Jn. 4:13,15, Col. 1:27, Rom. 8:10, Gal. 2:20, Eph. 3:17, 2 Cor. 13:5, Gal. 3:26-28, Jn. 14:20, Gal. 4:19 (NLT). This is part of the mystery of “Christ in You”. He is seated at the right hand of the Father but at the same time is in you, but also at the same time we are: “Seated with Him in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus” Eph. 2:6 (NKJV). WoW! …and where is Jesus seated? At the right hand of the Father in Heaven. We are there with Him because He is in us! Better yet, we are also “in Him”! Wait, we are “in Him” as well? YES!!! So at first glance you would think there should be another chair up there at the top where the Son and the Father are sitting for us to be sitting next to the Son with Him. There is no extra chair needed because we are “in Christ”! So we are not seated “with Him”, we are “in Him” and therefore with Him seated at the right hand of the Father (in union with Him). Lets look at Eph. 2:4-6 in the (NKJV) and the (AMP) versions.
“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” Eph. 2:4-6 (NKJV).
“But God, being [so very] rich in mercy, because of His great and wonderful love with which He loved us, even when we were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of our sins, He made us [spiritually] alive together with Christ (for by His grace—His undeserved favor and mercy—you have been saved from God’s judgment). And He raised us up together with Him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [ because we are ] in Christ Jesus” Eph. 2:6 (AMP).
Just a few important scriptures about being “in union with Christ“. This is crucial to understanding our identity “in Christ”!
“But the one who is united and joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him” 1 Cor. 6:17 (AMP).
It is through faith and by the Holy Spirit that we are “in Christ” and “He is in us”.
“so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith” Eph. 3:17 (AMP)
“For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God” Col. 3:3 (AMP).
“…And He raised us up together with Him [ when we believed ], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [ because we are ] in Christ Jesus” Eph. 2:6 (AMP).
“I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one” Jn. 17:22 (NLT).
I mentioned this scripture earlier above but need to repeat it one more time. This scripture really ties it all together for me!
“By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit…, Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God“ 1 Jn. 4:13, 15 (NKJV).
The Holy Spirit plays such an important role in all of this! The Holy Spirit is the key that unlocks the door to abundant life! Understanding the concept of “Christ in me” and “me in Christ” through faith and by the Holy Spirit has changed my life forever!
“You were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly. You have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all. Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness” Eph. 4:4-6 (MSG).
“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” Gal. 2:20 (NLT) .
Christ in us? Us in Christ? How in the world can this be? Well that’s just it! This concept is not of this world. It is spiritual and must be spiritually discerned! Which leads me to “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned“ 1 Cor. 2:14 (NKJV). We need the Holy Spirit to guide us, teach us and help us!
Whoa… wait a minute! So Christ AND the Father is in us as well as the Holy Spirit? Wow! This means the entire Trinity is in us and vise versa! The Trinity is inseparable. This is really amazing! This is some pretty good news!
I’m in Christ and He is in Me Flow-Chart
I have broken out the section of the map that focuses on “Christ In Us” and “Us in Christ”. Take a look! Click on the link or image below and you will be able to zoom around in high resolution for happy exploration 🙂
I’m in Christ and He is in Me Flow-Chart (Ver. 33a)
(This is the mystery revealed, the life changing union with Christ!)
So Christ AND the Father is in us AND the Holy Spirit is in us! This gives us a whole new viewpoint to “we are the temple of God”. (God, being the entire Trinity). “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” 1 Cor. 3:16 (NKJV)
The word “God” in this scripture in the original Greek is referring to Father, Son, Holy Spirit: The Trinity. So you could change this to “We are the temple of the Trinity and the Holy Spirit dwells in you!“ This is so awesome! And we also have this wonderful scripture: “By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit” 1 Jn. 4:13 (NKJV).
I am in Him and He is in Me! This is good news and brings us right back to the title of the poster: “To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” Col. 1:27 (NKJV).
Union with The Trinity Flow-Chart
Now I want to take this further and talk about the lower right section of the map that focuses not only union with Christ by the Holy Spirit, but also unity with Father, Son and Holy Spirit, yes, union with the Trinity! It’s the amazing good news! I have reorganized this section of the map for clarification. Take a look! Click on the link or image below and you will be able to zoom around in high resolution for happy exploration 🙂
Union With The Trinity Flow Chart (Ver. 33a)
(So much good news! We are one with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit!)
I want to point out a very important area of scripture that dives into union with the Trinity. i.e., oneness with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit! Read these scriptures several times and let it go DEEP!!!
“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them” Jn. 17:20-26 (NKJV)
…and let’s read it in the New Living Translation (my favorite).
“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began! “O righteous Father, the world doesn’t know you, but I do; and these disciples know you sent me. I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them” Jn. 17:20-26 (NLT).
Think for a moment about Jn. 17:20-26. Jesus was praying for us and His prayer was answered! Let that sink in! That is the good news!
I love what Malcolm Smith teaches on in regards to relationship, union with Christ and Union with the Trinity in the video I have placed below. I found this particular teaching to be quite awesome and is exactly what God has been speaking to me about for a while now. I can’t get away from it! So good!
Malcolm Smith’s teaching from Jacob’s Ladder in Jn. 1:35-51
WEBINAR 239 – God’s Song
Jacob’s ladder. No Separation… Union with Christ…. The union of mankind within Himself! God’s dream communicated to Jacob. Wow! So good I can hardly contain myself! 🙂 He nails it at the 28:30 min. mark on through the 30:38 min. mark!!!! This is exactly what I discovered as I dug in over and over again deeper into the scriptures that reference Christ in me and I in Him. It all leads to me in the entire Trinity and the entire Trinity in me!!! This is the amazing good news! OH YES!!! I had to transcribe what he said below. It’s everything. It’s relationship deeper than any other in the universe!!!! Whooop! Makes my heart leap!
An excerpt from the video transcribed here for study:
“This was not Jacob’s Dream, this was God’s dream that He gave to Jacob. The union of mankind with Himself. Which is a stairway from the heart of God touching into the earth. God’s dream… That God and Man shall be brought together and shall live one in the other. This is God’s passion. It’s never been man’s passion. Any passion we have about this is a response to God’s prior passion for us. (Eph. 1:4-7.) We would be one with the Trinity family. We would be in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. So that we would move freely around within the Holy Three! And at the very same moment the Father, Son and Holy Spirit would be in Us move freely around within all the totality of who we are and our life and all that we touch. That there would be no separation. Father, Son, Holy Spirit in us as we are in Him. Therefore where He is we are and where we are He is! No Separation! There is a stairway that has come into the heart of God and the initiative and determination to achieve that which came and comes from the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.” ~ Malcolm Smith
Marvelous! This is exactly what I am trying to get to with my study-map and this blog.
I also love what he says here at the 32:50 – 33:40 min. mark: “When you really get that God is love and that He always operates in grace and gift it can produce great disturbance along with great longing as you dare to believe you’ve seen the truth, you’ve touched reality. God’s dream for the human race, God’s dream for you is a very upsetting matter to the human and especially the religious human, it upsets that religious comfort zone we find ourselves in.” ~ Malcolm Smith
It’s so good!! Resting in the finished work of Christ is hard for our flesh. We naturally want to earn it so we can feel we deserve his grace and mercy (His gift). i.e., feel good about ourselves because we earned it (pride). There is nothing we can do to earn it, it is freely given to us by the King of Kings because of the Father’s love for us. It’s the best news ever! We just have to believe it and receive it! That is the only requirement! This oneness with the Trinity is accomplished by the Holy Spirit in us! This intimate union with Father, Son and Holy Spirit is the key to the abundant life! “…complete through your union with Christ” Col. 2:9-10 (NLT).
Here is a great quote taken from a book called “The Happy Gospel: Effortless Union with a Happy God” that is applicable towards the above paragraph.
“Perfection is like treasure people spend all their lives searching for. They sail endlessly on the rough and stormy seas of self-effort and will power, never knowing the treasure was in their house the whole time. They never needed to set sail to find what they were looking for. They were finished before they started and the prize lay right under their noses! Trusting in the finished work of the CHRIST is the one, the only key to unlock perfection. And it’s all because CHRIST in you, the hope of glory.” ~ Benjamin Dunn
“The Spirit Gives Life” 2 Cor. 3:6 (NLT) and Jn. 6:63 (NLT). “Life Abundantly!” Jn. 10:10 (NLT).
In Christ I shall be made alive! “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive” 1 Cor. 15:22 (NKJV).
The Holy Spirit within us gives us the ability to Abide in Christ! “I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing” Jn. 15:5 (AMP).
“By this we know [with confident assurance] that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given to us His [Holy] Spirit. We [who were with Him in person] have seen and testify [as eye-witnesses] that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses and acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. We have come to know [by personal observation and experience], and have believed [with deep, consistent faith] the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides continually in him” 1 Jn. 4:13-16 (AMP).
To fully understand 1 Jn. 4:13-16, you need to read it in it’s full context. See1 Jn. 4:7-21.
Here is video from Malcom Smith on union. Check it out when you can find a free hour. It’s packed with the goodness of God and the amazing free gift of our union with the Trinity!
Malcolm Smith’s teaching from Psalm 27 in regards to “Is my”
Malcolm Smith – WEBINAR 256 – The Doorway to Reality
Below are my favorite quotes in this message… so much goodness! I had to transcribe the good bits to help it solidify in my brain. He really hits the core of what Christianity is supposed to be! 🙂
“I can’t put a piece of paper between me and Him” > “He is He and I is me and yet we are, that’s union” > “He is seen in my amness” 🙂 > “The plan before creation, before there was time and space. The purpose behind creation, the purpose behind your existence, was that you should be the image of God. Your existence was that you should be made in the image of God, that you would be a container of God. Therefore to see you, would be to see God. We were created for a relationship, a union with God. We are custom made for that and sin is not the breaking of a few silly rules, it’s the breaking of that relationship and a falling away from that purpose.” > “The death of Jesus was a bringing to death of a broken, fallen, forever broken in darkness creation and He took it to death and when He rose from the dead He brought in Himself a new you! A new creation! You were crucified with Him, you were burred with Him and you rose with Him” > “When I believe upon Him, I have entered into the way. I have stepped into that path. I have stepped into the person who carried me into the very heart of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. That’s the ultimate IS and is the IS concerning you!!” > “When Jesus rose from the dead, a great IS went through all creation. That you would join to Jesus and that He carried you in Himself to the heart of God and there He is and there you is in His is!” > “God gave us Jesus, God inside our flesh and gave to us the Holy Spirit who would bring that reality of God inside our flesh into our flesh. Gal. 2:20 (ESV), Phil. 1:21 (ESV)” > Jn. 15:4 (ERV) “I am the vine, you are the branches.” He did not tell us what we have to do to become the branches, just “…and you are the branches”. How did you become a branch that takes its life out of the vine? How did you get there? 1 Cor. 1 (ERV), the Holy Spirit put you there!” > “legalism and religiosity has spent centuries trying to tell you it isn’t so, you’ve got to work at it to get there. Everything that you do and all that you’ve become happens after you realize that it is so!” > “Christianity is not some pathetic attempt to be like Jesus. It’s not sitting and having a religious headache trying to figure out what would Jesus do. The good news is the good news of IS. The Lord is my. We’ve been joined. I’m not trying to be like Him. He is dwelling within!” > “What’s anxiety? In your imagination you are seeing your situation and all your tomorrows without God” > “We think all of Christianity is trying to improve our flesh. To be something like Jesus. All of that was carried to the cross and burred. This good news is that God through Christ in the Holy Spirit has come within you. He has taken over the imagination area that we might ease into and be we might actually deposit ourselves in the presence of Him that is our life. That we don’t study the Son-light, we get inside of it and imbibe (drink) it’s warmth!” ~ Malcolm Smith – WoW! That is some good news pure Gospel right there!
Thanks to Malcom my new favorite word is: “Inbibe“. 🙂 im·bibe – drink (alcohol). “They were imbibing far too many pitchers of beer”. To absorb or assimilate (ideas or knowledge). To soak up, take in, drink in, digest, learn, acquire, grasp, pick up!
To be drunk with the new wine is Heaven! It is never “far too many” glasses of THIS WINE! Drink at work, or in the car and the only odor is the sweet smell of The Holy Spirit! Drink up and be glad!
The Holy Spirit is the key that opens the door to Christ in us and us in Christ!
I have broken out the important Holy Spirit focal point from the map and reordered it here for more clarity. Click on the link or image below and you will be able to zoom around in high resolution for happy exploration 🙂
Holy Spirit Flow-Chart (Ver. 20)
(We are in Christ and He is in us because of the Holy Spirit)
I will try and put this into some sense of order…
Christ dwells in our hearts through faith! Eph. 3:17 (AMP). When we believe in Christ were are In Christ! The Father sent us the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name Jn. 14:25,26 (AMP). God has given us the Holy Spirit as a helper, comforter, guide and teacher!
Christ had to come before the Holy Spirit came and we have to believe in Christ before we can receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to us. We have to believe in Christ to receive the gift. We only have to believe and receive!
Eph. 3:19,20 (NKJV) really puts it all into perspective for me in regards to how important the Holy Spirit is on our lives!
“…that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” Eph. 3:19.
“…according to the power (Holy Spirit) that works in us” Eph. 3:20.
I like how Eph. 3:19 (NLT) puts it: “you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God”
Life and Power… Resurrection power!
“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you” Rom. 8:11 (NLT).
Because we are united with Christ, we can serve God by “living in the Spirit”.
“So, my dear brothers and sisters, this is the point: You died to the power of the law when you died with Christ. And now you are united with the one who was raised from the dead. As a result, we can produce a harvest of good deeds for God. 5 When we were controlled by our old nature, sinful desires were at work within us, and the law aroused these evil desires that produced a harvest of sinful deeds, resulting in death. 6 But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit” Rom. 7:4-6 (NLT)
“Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law” Gal. 2:16 (NLT).
So we can serve the Lord not by works but by faith in Jesus Christ and by living in the Spirit! The by-product of having faith in Jesus Christ and living in the Spirit will be good works by the power of the Holy Spirit in us, not by our own strength. In other words, we don’t have to try hard to do good works, because we are in union with Christ we let Him to the good works through us by the power of the Holy Spirit. His yoke is easy and His burden is light when we let His power flow through us!
Here is a great quote from Relaxing with God: The Neglected Spiritual Discipline – by: Andrew Farley – “GOD never motivates us to not sin by fear. He motivates us to not sin by giving His Heart, His Mind, and His Spirit. He reminds us of our identity and of His Identity. I Thess. 5:19 (NKJV) – quenching the Spirit is simply not expressing what is already our true identity–union, righteous, forgiven, holy and blessed, …….”
…for behold! The Kingdom is within you! I recently heard a message from Jon Jenkins in regards to the Kingdom of God being in us! I thought it was so good I took the time to transcribe what he said in his message regards the Kingdom.
Referring to this scripture: “Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the Kingdom of God is within you” Lk. 17:21 (KJV), Jon Jenkins said the following:
“Jesus said, “your always asking me for the Kingdom of God to come, do you not understand this is what’s going to happen?” This is the season where the revelation of what that verse (Luke 17:21) means is going to become a reality in the church. He said for the Kingdom of God isn’t in Brownsville, it isn’t in Toronto, it isn’t in Lakeland, FL, those are places where you’ve seen evidence of it, but the kingdom of God is not a place you go to, it is in you! And the more you begin to release.. (he never finished this sentence but I’m sure he was going to say something like… ” the more we will see His power in action”) … Let’s let the Holy Spirit out of house arrest! Many have the Holy Spirit on house arrest, you need to let Him (the Holy Spirit) go because He’s wanting to minister, not only for you and in you but through you… it’s time the we realize, that we, the sons and daughters of the most high God have been called of God to be filled with the same Spirit that Jesus had on this earth and greater works shall we do (John 14:12) not because we go to seminary or theological schools but because Jesus Christ is in us and His power wants to flow through us. The season has come for this ministry where God is going to start doing in you and for you what the world needs Him to do through you.” – You can hear Jon’s complete message here: Jon Jenkins – Live Again
Jn. 14:12 (NKJV) it says this: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” – Jesus is saying here that we will do greater works because He was going to The Father. Why? Because The Holy Spirit could not come until He went to be with the Father. See Jn .16:7, and Jn. 14:16. This is such a crucial moment in scripture! It’s the key to the abundant life!!! It’s how His Kingdom can be in us! This is specifically what I have been getting blasted with for some time now! IT’S THE GOOD NEWS! …and the best news is we just have to “receive the gift”! YAY!!!
Before we move onto the mind of Christ section of the map, I want to point out something extremely important about the Holy Spirit.
- The Holy Spirit is fully God, lives within you and has been freely given to you! This is how Christ lives in you and how the Kingdom of God lives within you.
- “Such hope [in God’s promises] never disappoints us, because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us” Rom. 5:5 (AMP)
- The moment you believe in Jesus Christ, the one whom He sent… you are awakened to the truth that you are filled with the fullness of God! Refer to Eph. 3:17-19 (NKJV) and 1 Jn. 4:15 (NLT) for some examples.
- “…the kingdom of God is within you” Lk. 17:21 (NKJV).
- “Do not be afraid and anxious, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Lk. 12:32 (AMP). Believe and receive…
Oh yeah! It’s the Fathers good pleasure to give us the Kingdom. Yes, I receive it Lord!
This leads me to the subject of baptism of the Holy Spirit. When do we get that? When you believe in Christ you are filled with the fullness of God, so baptism is not a second work, a second filling, or another filling. You become awakened to what you already have when you believe!
This is what I am just now really starting to understand after being a Christian for 28 years and it is glorious good news indeed!
Check out this progression: “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive…” Jn. 7:38-39 (NLT). What is the living water? It’s life and life abundant! How do we receive this living water? By believing in Him! …and this scripture also says because we believe in Him, we receive the Holy Spirit! When do we receive the Holy Spirit? When we believe! Really what is happening is from the moment you believe, you are being awakened to what you already have because of the finished work of the cross! Exactly what was finished when Jesus said “It is finished!”? (Jn. 19:28-30) Here is a quick video that sums this up nicely.
What did Jesus mean when He said, “It is finished”?
The good news in a nutshell: Believe in Him, receive the Holy Spirit, instantly! Receive the Holy Spirit and you receive the fullness of God! 🙂 Believe in Him and you are instantly “In Christ!” …and “In Christ” lives all the fullness of God! “Whoever confesses and acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.” 1 Jn. 4:15 (AMP). Why is this good news? Because: “For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.” Col. 2:9-10 (NLT). whooop!!! Oh yeah!!! It’s so good! I’m drunk just thinking about it 🙂 May you be joyfully awakened to the fact that you are: filled with His glory Jn. 17:22, with His Joy Jn. 15:11, with His peace Jn. 14:27, and with His love Jn. 17:26. “…filled with all the fullness of God” Col. 2:9-10 (NLT). Be glad and rejoice!
Meditate on these scriptures and let it go in deep 🙂 Col. 1:27, 2 Cor. 13:5, Rom. 8:10, 2 Cor. 4:6-7, Gal. 1:15-16, Gal. 2:20, 1 Cor. 3:16, Eph. 3:17-19, Col. 2:9-10, Jn. 4:15.
I really love the statement from John Crowder, I feel he does a good job at explaining what we already have because we believed in Him: “We are realizing we have it all, there is a place for more Lord, but it’s not more of something that I don’t have, it’s more of a discovery of the fullness that we already have. He has given you everything. The outsiders have become insiders. He does not come progressively. He came all in one fell swoop, there’s no more hungering for more. If you’re still hungry, was Jesus not a good enough meal?” See Gal. 2:20, Rom. 6 and Col. 2. One more lovely Crowder quote: “The holy spirit does not come in portion, he comes in person”. That is glorious. The scripture says so right here! “For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.” Jn. 3:34 (NKJV).
Read this scripture again and let it sink in. “Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35 (NLT). “Those who believe in Jesus Christ are complete through their union with Christ! Col. 2:9-10 (NLT).
Here is an awesome scripture referencing Christ being in us through faith and being completely filled and flooded with God Himself. I love how the amplified version puts this into perspective. I have already mentions this above but I have it here in full context.
In my Bible the scripture I have placed below (Eph. 3:14-21) is titled as “Appreciation of The Mystery”. I love this title, we should appreciate and be in constant amazement of this mystery continuously! This is so good I have to put it all in context below.
“For this reason [grasping the greatness of this plan by which Jews and Gentiles are joined together in Christ] I bow my knees [in reverence] before the Father [of our Lord Jesus Christ], from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name [God—the first and ultimate Father]. May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality], so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love, be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love]; and [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself]. Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen” Eph. 3:14-21 (AMP).
I don’t know, I think that entire section needs to be underlined, highlighted, bolded and surrounded with blinking lights. It’s amazing good news! I believe the word “superabundantly” is my favorite part of that scripture reference. It’s a perfect word describe His free gift for us!
Mind of Christ and Our Identity
This is such an important part of our relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit! Understanding our identity In Christ is HUGE! I have broken out the bottom section of the poster that focuses on the Mind of Christ and our identity in Him! Click on the link or image below and you will be able to zoom around in high resolution for happy exploration 🙂
Mind of Christ and Our Identity Flow-Chart (Ver. 20)
(Right thinking because of The Holy Spirit!)
The mind of Christ has everything to do with our new nature! It’s an integral part of the new life! “Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life” 1 Cor. 15:22 (NLT).
We have this new nature because our old nature was crucified with Christ (when we believed)! “We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin” Rom. 6:6 (NLT).
The Holy Spirit renews our thoughts and attitudes! “Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. 23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy” Eph. 4:22-24 (NLT).
Throw off the old and put on the new! The old life is gone and the new life has begun! 2 “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” Cor. 5:17 (NLT).
We now have the mind of Christ and we have right thinking because of the Holy Spirit! 1 “For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ” Cor. 2:16 (NLT).
We can have this mind of Christ because of the Holy Spirit! “But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets” 1 Cor. 2:10 (NLT).
The mind of Christ is about what you are thinking. “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise” Phil. 4:8 (NLT).
Set your “mind” on things above. “Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm” Col. 3:2 (TPT).
God has given us a “sound mind”. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” 2 Tim. 1:7 (NKJV).
Let the Holy Spirit transform how you think. “Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes” Rom. 12:2 (TPT).
Let the Holy Spirit control your thoughts, this will lead to life and peace. “So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace” Rom. 8:6 (NLT).
Capture every thought and make it bow in obedience to God. “We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One” 2 Cor. 10:5 (TPT).
Set your mind on the things of the Spirit. “For those who are living according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh [which gratify the body], but those who are living according to the Spirit, [set their minds on] the things of the Spirit [His will and purpose]” Rom. 8:5 (AMP).
We have the mind of Christ because we have a new nature, we are a new creation!
So let’s get back to Col. 1:26-27…
“This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people. For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory” Col. 1:26-27 (NLT). The (NKJV) and others says “Hope of Glory”.
What is this hope of glory? What does it mean to “share His glory”?
- His GLORY in us – Jn. 17:22 (We carry His glory inside us)
- His JOY in us – Jn. 15:11 (We carry His joy inside us)
- His PEACE in us – Jn. 14:27 (We carry His peace inside us)
- His LOVE in us – Jn. 17:26, Rom. 5:5 (We carry His love inside us)
- The FULLNESS OF GOD in us – Eph. 3:19 (We carry the fullness of God inside us)
- KINGDOM OF GOD IN US! – Luk. 17:20-21 (We carry the Kingdom inside us)
…and the result of all this leads to Freedom!
Many of us know this familiar scripture: “… “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 Cor. 2:9 (NLT). But many usually stop there and don’t move onto verse. “…But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets” 1 Cor. 2:10 (NLT).
His Spirit in us does and will: (a short list)
“guide us into all truth”~ John 14:17 / John 16:13 (NLT)
“never leave us” ~ John 14:16 (NLT)
“not abandon us as orphans (Spirit of Adoption)” ~ Rom. 8:15 (NLT)
“teach us everything” ~ John 14:26 (NLT)
“help, pray and intercede for us” Rom 8:26 (AMP)
“transform us into the image of Jesus” 2 Cor. 3:18 (NLT)
“lead us” Rom. 8:14 (AMP)
“produce fruit” Gal. 5:22,23 (NLT)
“give us life” ~ John 6:63 (NLT)
“give us new life“ Tit. 3:5 (NLT)
“give us life abundantly!” ~ John 10:10 (NLT)
“bring true freedom“ 2 Cor. 3:17 (AMP)
“make us complete with all the fullness of life and power” Eph. 3:16 (NLT)
“make known what has been freely given to us by God!”1 Cor. 2:9-16 (NLT)
“gives us the ability to Abide in Christ!” Jn. 15:4,5 / 1 Jn. 4:13 (AMP)
“impart all of the gifts of Christ needed for ministry” 1 Cor. 12 / Rom. 12 / Eph. 4. (NKJV)
Don’t take the Holy Spirit for granted. Appreciate His life giving gift for us continually!
“And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own!” Eph. 4:30 (NLT).
“…His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for Himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted” Eph. 4:30 (MSG).
So much goodness to dive into. The Trinity is such a core to all that is Christianity! The Trinity always was and is and is to come! Studying all the Bible has to say about the Trinity and functionality thereof and the role that each person of the Trinity plays and how we are involved with all three and vise verse is mind blowing and amazing!
Here is something to think about that should excite you!
“For the Kingdom of God is “… living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” Rom. 14:17 (NKJV).
“I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Col. 2:2,3 (NKJV).
“for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see — such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him” Col. 1:16 (NLT).
…and He is in us and we are in Him! It’s amazing good news!
“When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you” Jn. 14:20 (NLT)
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Cor. 5:17 (NLT)
…and here is some “set you free” good news:
The only “Work” we have to do is… “Believe in Him whom He sent”
“Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent” Jn. 6:29 (NKJV) – “Believe in Him whom He sent” …and let Him do the work for you!
…believe in Him AND whom He sent and have eternal life!
“And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth” Jn. 17:3 (NLT).
I love what a missionary friend of mine said recently about Jn. 17:3 “Eternal life begins when you know Him, when you are in Him, you are in the eternal. You make the transition from the temporal to the eternal when you get to know him.” ~ Jim Santiago Hill
THAT IS ALL! THE GOOD NEWS!
…and here is some even more good news. Condensing the message above, here it is in a much smaller package:
“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus” Rom. 8:1 (NLT).
“Who shall ever separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? Just as it is written and forever remains written, “For Your sake we are put to death all day long; We are regarded as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. For I am convinced [and continue to be convinced—beyond any doubt] that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” Rom. 8:35-39 (AMP).
ETERNAL ABUNDANT LIFE NOW
“…the person who hears My word [the one who heeds My message], and believes and trusts in Him who sent Me, has (possesses now) eternal life [that is, eternal life actually begins—the believer is transformed], and does not come into judgment and condemnation, but has passed [over] from death into life” Jn. 5:24 (AMP). …Life abundantly! John 10:10.
FRIENDS WITH GOD
“And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God” Rom. 5:9-12 (NLT).
…not only has He made us friends with God, He sent us the Holy Spirit so that we may abide in Him and He in us!…
WE LIVE IN HIM AND HE LIVES IN US
“And God has given us His Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God” 1 Jn. 4:13-15 (NLT).
UNITED WITH CHRIST
“For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus” Eph. 2:6-7 (NLT).
So here is some amazing news…….
If He’s in me and I’m in Him,
then He is where I am, and I am where He is.
This is a wonderful mystery that gives me hope!
This makes me happy!
So knowing all this good news, we can now relax and let God take care of all our needs 🙂
“Jesus taught his disciples, saying, “Listen to me. Never let anxiety enter your hearts. Never worry about any of your needs, such as food or clothing. For your life is infinitely more than just food or the clothing you wear. Take the carefree birds as your example. Do you ever see them worry? They don’t grow their own food or put it in a storehouse for later. Yet God takes care of every one of them, feeding each of them from his love and goodness. Isn’t your life more precious to God than a bird? Be carefree in the care of God! Does worry add anything to your life? Can it add one more year, or even one day? So if worrying adds nothing, but actually subtracts from your life, why would you worry about God’s care of you? Think about the lilies. They grow and become beautiful, not because they work hard or strive to clothe themselves. Yet not even Solomon, wearing his kingly garments of splendor, could be compared to a field of lilies. If God can clothe the fields and meadows with grass and flowers, can’t he clothe you as well, O struggling one with so many doubts? I repeat it: Don’t let worry enter your life. Live above the anxious cares about your personal needs. People everywhere seem to worry about making a living, but your heavenly Father knows your every need and will take care of you. Each and every day he will supply your needs as you seek his kingdom passionately, above all else” Lk. 12:22-31 (TPT). (See also Matthew 6:25-33)
So how do we not worry or be anxious when there is so much around us to worry and be anxious about?
“Cast your burden on the Lord [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail)” Ps. 55:22 (AMP).
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time, casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. 1 Ptr. 5:6,7 (AMP).
“Do not be afraid and anxious, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” Lk. 12:32(AMP).
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:6-7(NKJV)
So how do we not worry and not be anxious? By humbling ourselves under the mighty hand of God [setting aside self-righteous pride], by prayer and supplication to the Lord with thanksgiving and by casting all of our cares and burdens upon Him, for He cares for us! YaY Jesus!
Here a great song about letting Him work in us. …His Yoke is easy, His burden is so light!
“For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light” Mat. 11:30 (NLT).
…Yeah that’s right. Christ is in you, lifting your load 🙂
Here is a quote from “The Rest of The Gospel” by Dan Stone that I feel helps explain this concept of easy yoke and light burden. ~ “The Father operated through the Son. We will see the life of the Father and the Son operating though us by the Holy Spirit.” “Do you not know and understand that you [the church] are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells [permanently] in you [collectively and individually]?”1 Cor. 3:16 (AMP).You are a temple for all three persons of the Trinity!
We can experience this easy yoke and light burden by letting the life of the Father and Son operate through us by the Holy Spirit!
His never-ending love for us is so amazing! I’m so excited to know Him! He’s so good! Thank you Jesus! Thank you Father for loving us so much that you sent your Son! Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice for us! Thank you Father and Son for sending us the Holy Spirit!
This quote from “Spiritual Burnout: When Doing All You Can Isn’t Enough” by: Malcolm Smith (1988) sums it up nicely! ~ “There is nothing left for man to do, no ladders to climb, no mountains to scale, The heart of the Christian life is to stand in wonder before His love and say, “Thank You”!””
If I were to try and sum up my entire Study-Map and all that I have said above to try and explain my study-map into one quote, this would be it!
“The pinnacle and what should be the normalcy of our Christian walk while here on earth, is union with Christ the Son, the Holy Spirit and the Father. The fact is, union with Trinity is normalcy and reality for the Christian because of the Holy Spirit.”

In case you missed it, this entire “Christ in You (Good News) Bible Study-Map and Blog” is about God’s free gift of Grace and our union with Him and by “Him” I mean Father, Son and Holy spirit because the three are one. I am in a completely different place now than I was spiritually in regards to grace just a few years ago. Now I am looking at grace through the lens of the finished work of the cross and it’s completely different! It’s wonderful! It’s vibrant! It’s life-giving! It’s the good news! 🙂 I “knew” about grace, I thought I “understood” grace and I thought I even had a “revelation” about grace, but what was missing even up to a few years ago was a “revelation of the finished work of the cross”. When I look at grace now through the lens of the finished work of the cross, it’s all new and alive and wonderful! 🙂 To quote a friend if mine: “No Do’s and no Blues… ONLY GOOD NEWS!!”. We have it ALL from the moment we believe in Him because of the finished work of the cross. The rest of our Christian walk is being awakened to that reality! WOW!
This movie quote explains it well. “My father says that almost the whole world is asleep…everybody you know, everybody you see, everybody you talk to. He says that only a few people are awake and that they live in a state of constant…total…amazement.” – DeDe (Meg Ryan) to Joe (Tom Hanks) in Joe Versus the Volcano.
His grace is sufficient, His love limitless and His gift to us extravagant!
Jn. 6:63 ~The Spirit Gives Life!
Not just life… but life abundantly! ~ Jn. 10:10
May His joy (Jn 15:11) in you be your strength (Neh. 8:10)!
